National Museum of Sudan
A picture is worth 1000 words. First “field trip” with some of my teaching colleagues. These amazing statues stood outside the museum– statues of Natakamani that stood in front of the museum. While this museum is in quite a bit of disrepair, and certainly not as “fancy” as the museums I’m used to in the US, the sheer magnitude of these ancient artifacts was impressive. I’m sure this won’t be the last time I will visit it!
