A Day in the Life…..

Just thought I’d give a little insight into the day-to-day life of being a teacher here at Unity High School.  I’ve spent most of my career teaching in primary school, so things are a bit different for me being in a school with both secondary and primary happenings.  I think there are a lot of things that must be very different here from the norm in the US but there are a lot of similarities….some of it is the vernacular, which I’m STILL trying to get used to.

THE DREADED “COVER” BOARD. GOTTA CHECK IT EVERY MORNING BECAUSE IF SOMEONE IS ABSENT IN SECONDARY, OTHERS HAVE TO “COVER” THEIR CLASS DURING THEIR FREE TIMES–Nobody like this!!
THE DAILY NOTICES – CHECK EVERY MORNING FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS, AND ESPECIALLY TO SEE IF YOU HAVE THE DREADED “COVER”
